Set in modern-day Italy, the story features two young men searching for their identity, and Julia, Shakespeare's first female character to disguise herself as a young man.

The company, made up of 14 MFA actors in training at the Old Globe Theater and the University of San Diego, boldly directs this timely and classy comedy about betrayal, loyalty, and friendship, with a wild cast of characters. Breathe life into.

The Shiley Theater Graduate Program, a joint venture between the Globe Theater and the University of San Diego, recruits seven students nationally each year to participate in an intensive two-year graduate program in classical theater.

The theater master's program is privately funded by a generous endowment established by Donald and Darlene Shiley.

Proteus is invited by his best friend Valentine to go to Milan to expand his horizons, but he wants to stay because he doesn't want to be separated from his girlfriend Julia.

However, Proteus is also forced to go to Milan by his father's orders, swears his eternal love to his girlfriend Giulia, and leaves Verona, leaving her behind.

Valentine goes to Milan and falls in love with a woman named Sylvia, but Sylvia's father, the Grand Duke of Milan, is trying to marry Tulio to his daughter for his wealth.

Proteus arrives there and immediately falls in love with Sylvia at first sight. In order to obtain Sylvia, Proteus lies to the Grand Duke of Milan and forces Valentine, the troublemaker, to be expelled from Milan.

Meanwhile, Julia comes to Milan with Lucetta disguised as a man, eager to meet Proteus.
